Office Closure

During the Christmas period, our office will be closed on the following days:

Closed Dates: December 25th, December 26th, and January 1st.

Existing VAT Clients

VAT returns for periods ending on the 30th November 2023 will need to be filed by the 7th January 2023, and as you can imagine this will be a busy period for us. This also significantly reduces the amount of time we have to prepare and file your return. To ensure your VAT return is filed on time, please provide the data to us no later than Friday 15th December.

If you fail to provide your information by this date, it will be unlikely your VAT return will be filed on time.

Please note, HMRC can issue penalties for late filing.

VAT Threshold (ignore if already VAT registered)

We understand that keeping up with changes in tax regulations and obligations can be overwhelming, which is why we want to ensure that you are fully informed and reassured. It is important to note that businesses with a taxable turnover of £85,000 or more in any 12-month rolling period are required to register for VAT. This is a legal requirement that applies to most businesses.


However, we want to remind you that we are here to support you and ensure that you are fully compliant with VAT regulations. If you are not currently registered for VAT, it is essential that you monitor your turnover and take action if you are close to breaching the threshold or have already done so. We can guide you through the process and provide you with the necessary support to ensure that you are fully compliant with the regulations.

We understand that VAT registration and compliance can be complex, which is why we offer comprehensive services to handle VAT registration and the preparation and submission of VAT returns on your behalf. In light of the upcoming holidays and limited working hours, we kindly request that if you have variable employee hours during the Christmas period to submit these to us at least 2 working days prior to the pay date. This will ensure that we have sufficient time to prepare accurate and timely payslips.

Additionally, please note that during the Bank Holidays, we will not be able to produce payslips. If you anticipate needing payslips on these dates, we kindly ask that you inform us beforehand so we can produce payslips before the holiday closure on the 25th, 26th and the 1st.

If we provide weekly payslips to you with fixed hours. On the week commencing the 25th of December, you will receive payslips either on the 27th or the 28th of December 2023 when our staff are back in the office. If you require payslips before these dates, please let us know beforehand so we can plan accordingly.

If we provide monthly payslips to you with fixed hours, you will receive payslips as normal by the 22nd of December 2023 at the latest.


Due to reduced working hours around the CIS deadline, we ask that if you employ subcontractors send over your CIS information to us before the 15th of December 2023, as this is the date we aim to file the CIS by.

Please note if we do not hear from you by this date, we will assume your CIS is Nil for the period and we will file the CIS accordingly.


If you have an account filing deadline of the 31st December 2023 then you will have already received lots of contact from us over the last year informing you of this deadline and requesting the information for us to prepare the accounts. If you have still not provided that information to us we request it is provided by close of business on Monday 11th December 2023 so we can guarantee we can prepare the accounts for you in time.
